Call for Musgrave to remove her name from legislation sponsored for self-profit

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reported that Rep. Musgrave is one of only nine co-sponsors on legislation that will financially benefit coin collectors. ("Musgrave backs bill benefiting her family", Coloradoan, 9/20/2008)

The legislation will reduce taxes on coins and precious metals of $52 million over 10 years. Musgrave's husband had between $50,000 and $100,000 invested in coins and precious metals in 2007 as reported in Musgrave's 2007 personal financial disclosures.

Musgrave was named of the 13 most corrupt members of Congress in 2005 by the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. (National Journal, 9/30/2005)

We call for Musgrave to remove her name as a cosponsor of this bill immediately.
