coloLaborRightsCoalition

Endorsed by the Colorado AFL-CIO, and unions affiliated with CHANGE TO WIN, the Labor Rights Coalition is attempting to place a Labor Rights Amendment to the Colorado Constitution. When passed, this Amendment will repeal the 75% majority rule needed for union recognition. It will allow union card check off's for union members. It will repeal 8-73-108 (11) CRS which denies union membership and collective bargaining rights to Farm Workers and Public Employees. At the present time employers who are found to have engaged in "unfair labor practices" can be fined fifty dollars: Fire fifty workers who want to join a union and get fined a buck a worker. The Labor Rights Amendment will increase the initial penalty to $1,000.00 per worker for the first offense. For subsequent offenses, fines are doubled and there "shall be a loss of all government issued licenses for a period of 6 months to a year: YOU CAN'T RUN A RAT HOTEL WITHOUT A LIQUOR LICENSE. YOU CAN'T RUN A NURSING HOME WITHOUT A HEALTH DEPT. PERMIT, AND YOU CAN'T RUN A WAL=MART WITH A RETAIL SALES LICENSE. 25 signatures is all we ask. If you would be willing to circulate a petition for us, please contact us. Thank You.
