Advocates for Single-Payer Health Coverage - No other initiative would provide such immediate relief and benefit to all, while cutting costs for all sectors of society, e.g., education, big and small business, labor, etc. The truth is, our inefficient, inflationary health care delivery system renders U.S. business increasingly less competitive in the world, resulting in inflated costs of goods and services to consumers, and auto manufacturers (Toyota and General Motors) taking jobs to Canada. Currently, $1,500 is added to the cost of each U.S.-made automobile alone, the result of cost-shifting due corporations' escalating costs for employee health coverage.
