Now let's not be hypocrites, everyone, like our friends on the right are. If we're honest with ourselves, we'll admit that for eight (looooonnnnngggg) years, we've been calling Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et. al. "Nazis", "Hitler", "Fascists", etc. etc. ad nauseum.
So we really can't turn around now and condemn everyone who was within line-of-sight of the guy who had the swastika on the sign at the bailout protest the other day as being a "Nazi", a "Hitler", etc. etc. That is a type of intellectual dishonesty that is unbecoming, no?

I did it again this morning: Link
Believe it or not, there are still people in this world who can claim the moral high ground on this issue.
Unless you are talking about actual Nazis, no Nazi reference is apt. Unless you are referring to the actual German dictator, no Hitler reference is apt. and unless you are talking about an actual communist country (China, etc.) no juxtaposition of a modern politician and the word "communism" is apt.
These references insult the memory of those who suffered.
I was concerned over the past few months as more and more people would 'faint" at Obama rallies, over-the-top speeches, meaningless rhetoric, everything bigger and better! Before the election I saw 1 in 4 cars with Obama bumperstickers, today I see maybe 1 in 10. I was concerned that a national socialism would overtake the US.
Luckily, those fears are waining as we see Obama's approval rating in a free fall. The "crisis" line is wearing thin after pushing his $1 TRILLION porkulus bill that had to be voted on in 24 hours, then wait 4 days to sign it into law. Thank god the republicans saw it for what it is and refused to vote for it if they werent even given time to read it.
Anyway, back to the 1930's. It is fun to look at the Obama Administration making the same mistakes FDR made. Im sure FDR would have spent more but he was limited by that pesky gold standard. Hoover did the right thing by extending more money to the banks. If FDR did nothing, the "great depression" would have been over by 1933. Reports coming out in the past week have been showing signs of the recession slowing, but as Rahm Emmanuel says, "We cant waste a good crisis." I realize the MSM isnt saying much about it, but California home sales are up 40% over this time last year.
I agree we still have problems and most of that is the need for the banks to be moving money.
And yes, lets not be hypocrites and try to blame any of this on Bush.
The well documented and admitted to dishonesty and outright lies while not solely the domain of the right, began in earnest with the Reagan regime...er, administration. Reagan, along with Bush the elder operated under the attitude ( As practiced by Nixon ) that as long as the P.O.T.U.S. does it, it's not illegal. Well, it is.
Keep up the campaign of misinformation, "Arvada". You're following right along with the de-facto leaders of the republican party - Limbaugh, Malkin, O'Reilly, etc., etc. The Democratic party is doing very well as a result of the above mentioned "leaders" preaching to the choir.
