He announced this morning on Meet the Press. Some reasons:

Powell was concerned about McCain's response to the economic crisis.

About Palin: I don't believe Sarah Palin is ready.

Powell was angry about the Bill Ayers and how it was used by the McCain camapign and the Republican party.

Supreme Court "I would have difficult with two more (conservative) appointments to the Supreme Court"

On the use of religion as a divisive issue in : "We have got to stop polarizing ourselves this way"

Thank you General Powell. The General has placed the good of our country ahead of party politics. After serving our country with honor and dignity for all these years, he has once again come to the aid of our country to endorse the man General Powell believes will bring America back to being the "Shining Beacon of Freedom" for the whole world to see that has been lost these last eight years.

Powell never was a Republican. He served Repuplican presidents, that's all. He endorsed Obama because he's black. I dont have a problem with that, it's fine. What i do have a problem with, is, Powell thinking the rest of America is stupid enough to think it's not because he's black
