Just heard on MSNBC that Alaska's U.S. Senator Ted Stevens was just found GUILTY on all counts. Tough, tough year for the right wing.

Up to the Political Will of Alaska Voters
By Ralph T Oct 27th 2008 at 5:35 pm EDT (Updated Oct 27th 2008 at 5:35 pm EDT)
"Uncle Ted" remains on the ballot, could conceivably still be re-elected and keep his seat and seniority in the US Senate. Like much of the US justice system these days the verdict doesn't matter until all of the appeals are done.

Even before the sentencing hearing we can be certain that the Stevens legal team is lining up an appeal. Considering the sloppiness of the prospecution that's not suprising.

What deserves continued scrutiny is Stevens' conduct over the next week making the case to be re-elected regardless of this verdict. After the media attention of Palin are Alaskans really so committed to Stevens that they will cast their fate with him after this verdict?
