Campfire and hot air

Even though the 2009 Congressional recess has seen an emerging cacophony of GOP professional media slurring our duly and legally elected President, Barack Obama, (and I slurred Cheney/Bush with a lack of salutes), I still and will continue to stir the coals of President Obama’s campfire.
Barack Obama was forced to handle a bundle of hot irons from his predecessor, before he rode into camp. In addition, as I recall, the last four years of the Cheney/Bush campfire was poorly tended, with embers blowing wildly in the wind. I try to keep the 2008 firestorm in mind when I read all the hot air being blown across the socio/political landscape by those GOP’ers who were chased from the Whitehouse CP by a majority of the voters.
What keeps me wide-awake is a persistent nightmare bannered with: “what is the alternative if conservatives have their way.”.
I will admit that President Obama could have made a few better 'appointments', and I admit that he has made some mistakes, which I fervently hope do not turn out to be fatal, but as someone once wrote, "if you are not making mistakes, you aren't doing anything".
