Outgoing Jeffco Treasurer and aborted CD-7 candidate Mark Paschall attempted one last gasp of corruption on his way out, according to the Denver Post:

Paschall asked to buy his county vehicle - a black 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer - at $9,000 below fair market value and to buy his county-owned computer.

The Board of Commissioners nixed both requests, noting both items are not scheduled for disposal and will be re-assigned.

The article also notes that Paschall butted heads with the county over the placement of the "Citizens Rule Book," noting that it was "controversial" but failing to mention what it is about--jury nullification using religious law over actual law. The article also mentions his desire to put his own analysis of a state constitutional amendment on the county's web site, but again failed to mention what that was about--a far-right anti-tax tirade disguised as an official analysis, written by an Independence Institute lackey.

Another Radical Hack Bites the Dust

Note to Marck Paschall - Don't let the doors of the Taj-JeffCo whack you in the butt too hard! Here's another case of how far in the wrong direction the fractured and factioned Colorado GOP can go.

While in most cases the actions of the JeffCo Commissioners are suspect, at best, this is a rare example of holding the just and ethical line. Mark's request was a blatant "...gimme a little going-away present..." at the expense of the JeffCo taxpayers.
