I agree with Todd Gitlin, Talkingpointsmemo.com blogger, that Rep. Rahm Emanuel "has introduced a bill to delete spending for Cheney's office on the ground that Cheney claims, when convenient, that the vice-president's office is not "an entity within the executive branch."
Gitlin adds this:
Update Tuesday morning: The Hill reports that Dick Durbin and Chuck Schumer are talking about Senate legislation parallel to Rahm's, and Dianne Feinstein made sympathetic noises on Fox News Sunday

Who can meet with our elected representatives this week to support Rep. Rahm and Sen. Durbin's proposed legislation?
Who can call to support them?
When the executive branch makes a case that is clearly unconstitutional then it is time to pull their funding.

It also seems that our Washington Dems are going after Cheney after all in an aggressive way. I am relieved.
I honestly felt that our Democratic Congress was going to blow off the task of exposing and prosecuting or impeaching Cheney, Gonzales and Bush. Not the first time I've been wrong.
It is great that the Washington Post is doing its series on Cheney. Apparently even the WaPo is fed up with Cheney's secret control of the Administration.
I believe at least a majority of voters want Congress to investigate and impeach or prosecute where obvious.
What will the House Dems do when presented with the same public evidence of Cheney's impeachable crimes that satisfies the public? (or are we there already?)
I have faith that the Dems will do the right thing. I hope.
One of the best sources I've found is Speaker Pelosi's blog, where she posts video clips of hearings and whatnot. A lot of it isn't getting front page coverage just because there is so much of it, but the media is still noticing. Even the Rocky had a strong anti-Cheney editorial today.
But the WaPo series has the potential of really changing the media priorities and putting the laser beam on Cheney. As Martha would say, "it's a good thing."
