Spreading freedom is what 'Merica is 'bout so sayeth the Decider in Chief. But when the people of a nation rise up to demand an end to their slavery where is "the rich is my base" Commander Guy?

From The DailyMail.co.uk:

Thousands of protesters are dead and the bodies of hundreds of executed monks have been dumped in the jungle, a former intelligence officer for Burma's ruling junta has revealed.

The most senior official to defect so far, Hla Win, said: "Many more people have been killed in recent days than you've heard about. The bodies can be counted in several thousand."

The assessment by Swedish diplomat Liselotte Agerlid:

"People are scared and the general assessment is that the fight is over. We were informed from one of the largest embassies in Burma that 40 monks in the Insein prison were beaten to death today and subsequently burned."

What did the USA do?  Basically nothing.

Bush doesn't care about the "freedom" because his meaning of freedom is only about "free markets" nothing more and nothing less.  The meaning of freedom:

A political condition that permits freedom of choice and action for individuals and also for individuals and groups to participate in the decisions and operation of the society and the political system.
