From a story in the Economist

"UNPOPULAR, isolated, and facing the humiliation of impeachment, Pervez Musharraf resigned as president of Pakistan on Monday August 18th....
they (the people)were dancing in the streets."

We here in America can cause accountability for President Bush and Vice President Cheney, but you have to take action before the election. You the voter have the power to force our Incumbent Democratic Congressmen(and women) to honor their oath of office to protect our Constitution by calling for immediate impeachment hearings.

It is not necessary that impeachment hearing be finished prior to the election, only that they are started. We the voters have the power to make this happen, but you will have to call your congressman repeatedly over the next two months.

Contact information for Colorado congressmen can be found here.

In addition, US House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers is calling the membership of the House Judiciary Committee back from their Fall recess to investigate Ron Suskind's revelations about the forged letter that falsely said that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

It has been reported that the order to the CIA to have the letter forged came on White House Stationary.

On Democracy Now today Conyers said "The 110th Congress isn't over. We're starting our work, and then we're doing it in a period where the Congress is in recess. I'm calling everybody back. We've got a huge amount of work to engage in."

Please contact the Judiciary Committee to
urge them to impeach now:

Rumours that US & Great Britain tried to Stop His Impeachment
By John H Kennedy Aug 18th 2008 at 10:33 am EDT (Updated Aug 18th 2008 at 10:33 am EDT)
Some website have published accounts that suggest the US and British governments have tried to intervene to stop impeachment of Musharrif, all the while denying it of course.

That is the two governments that conspired to lie about WMD in the first place to enable the Iraq invasion and occupation.

We going to let them get away with this???

Tell Pelosi this Wed that impeachment here at home should NOT be off the table

Nancy Pelosi will be in town Wed to plug her book.
Let's remind her that there is enough evidence of high crimes and treason to make impeachment hearings a top priority:

John, God bless you for your efforts, but...

Impeachment is not going to happen, even if Bush gets caught with a dead gay boytoy S&M hooker....

Understand that the Founding Fathers were brilliant, in that they framed impeachment to work only if the impeached lost the support of his own political party.

Now, we are seeing a few Republican'ts jumping off the Bush Bandwagon, but not enough in the Senate for impeachment to go thru the Senate.

We can AND should keep the heat on the Deserter President and his handlers up until Election Day. The more crooked sh*t comes out of the GOP, the more certain that there will be a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate after '08, and a bigger majority in the House.

But impeachment is a slow and arduous process, even in the cable news/internet era. And it should be slow - we don't want the process to turn into a method of political revenge.

Remember, Nixon lost the support of his own Party after the Saturday Night Massacre in October 73, and impeachment proceedings didn't start until May 74, and even then didn't resign until Aug 74.

Yes, the Democrats should've made impeachment of Cheney and Bush Job #1 when they assumed power. Since that didn't happen then, it's not going to happen now.

We need to focus our energy on holding those Democrats accountable for their lack of physical and moral courage. And we ned to figure out a way to nail Bush, Cheney, Rove and all the rest of the crooks who brought their crimes on the country.

The corporate media does not want to air the crimes of Mr. Bush because they are receiving too much money from their corporate buddies in the defense industry. If they did so then there would be a great hue and cry for impeachment.
