One last effort to Stop The Pardons. Won't you help?
Thank you for your earlier assistance in the effort to hold Bush and Cheney accountable.
President Bush will probably pardon
Vice President Cheney, Rumsfeld, Gonzales and all the rest of the Bush Administration staffers and lawyers that advised him to Torture prisoners, ignore House subpoenas, wiretap and rendition Americans, jail people indefinitely without charges, issue over 800 signing statements (refusing to obey or enforce Federal Laws), and a host of other abominations.
Bush will have to do this on or just before he leaves office next Tuesday, January 20th.
We are trying to pressure one or two of the House Democrats who earlier supported Rep. Kucinich's Impeachment Resolutions to individually file single article impeachment resolutions before Jan 20th to stop any Bush effort to pardon the torturers.
If one or two Democrats in the US House can be persuaded to file impeachment resolutions before January 20th we can stop the pardons. The US Constitution does not allow Bush to pardon if the recipient (including Bush) is involved in impeachment proceedings.
If the Illinois House Democrats can impeach their Governor for far less serious crimes in 90 minutes, our US House Democrats can do it in a week.
You can stop the Pardons.
Please make a few phone calls, emails or faxes to these House Democrats.
Call the Co-Sponsors of Rep. Kucinich's earlier Impeachment Resolutions and tell them to immediately file a flood of single article impeachment resolutions that will get the attention of the press.
The new resolutions should be for ordering Torture, which both Bush & Cheney have admitted to on television, and/or for ordering Administration staffers to ignore House subpoenas (Nixon was forced out of office for this). Both are impeachment articles which require little or no investigation. Either they did it or they didn't.
CALL 800-828-0498 and ask for each of these Congressmen/Co-Sponsors in turn:
Representatives:
Dennis Kucinich
Robert Wexler
Maxine Waters
Edolphus Towns
Pete Stark
Janice Schakowsky
Donald Payne
Gwen Moore
Jim McDermott
Barbara Lee
Carolyn Kilpatric
Hank Johnson
Sheila Jackson-Lee
Raul Grijalva1
Bob Filner
Sam Farr
Keith Ellison
Danny Davis
Steve Cohen
William "Clay, Jr.
Yvette Clarke
Robert Brady
Leonard Boswell
Tammy Baldwin
Jim Moran
Please also call Rep. John Conyers, Judiciary Committee Chariman
and Rep. Nadler, Chairman of the Constitution Sub-Committee.
We are attempting to put a great deal of pressure on Conyers because he has been blocking the holding of impeachment hearings. PLEASE see this article on OpEdNews and sign up and comment on it and help us keep the discussion going for a few days. At:
