Web and bias
By Jack Dec 18th 2008 at 10:54 am EST (Updated Dec 18th 2008 at 10:54 am EST)
Clearly the web is what's hurting newsprint the most. The plethora of news sources available on the web, without ever having to open your door to fetch the newspaper, is compelling enough to cancel a subscription. You have instant access to stories being updated throughout the day, instead of the ones that were ready to go to press the night before. There is now instant access to classifieds, links to related stories at other venues, ability to add opinions in real time, etc.

While the editorial bias of some publications ultimately hurts their reader base, it is secondary to the (relatively) new media format.
