We must look in the proper place for solutions

The cost of healthcare follows the law of demand and supply. If people think they are victims of life, they don't prepare themselves for NOT getting sick. Therefore, the demand portion of the equation places a great deal of pressure on the system. In addition, the numbers of patients, called human beings, is not being addressed through family planning, sex education, or immigration control. How, then do we address the 'victimhood' mentality of most of the population? There is now a wealth of information, insight, and research findings that can help.
Many authors, international speakers, forums, and organizations have been zeroing in on how powerful we (meaning humans and institutions) really are....Dr. Caroline Myss, Dr. David Hawkins, Dr, Larry Dossey, Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Brian Weiss, Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen, Dr. Gerald Jampolsky, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Herbert Benson, Gary Zukav and many more.
Universities are performing invaluable research on health...The Department of Health and Human Services has recently announced that '70% of all diseases can be prevented through proper exercise.' Is this too simple? Well, yes, but it helps direct us in the proper direction.
The government can be a tremendous adjunct to enhancing personal responsibility by desseminating the latest research findings on staying healthy through a monthly publication to its citizens.
Schools could adopt a K thru 12 'Health and Anatomy' curriculum thereby strenghtening each one's background on individual health care.
Business has already found a valuable asset when it provides an environment that is conducive to peacefulness, slower pace, and individual participation in business decisions.
The results of this 'environment' have been fewer sick days, more cooperation, and increased production. Could not the business also be a source of health information?
Of course, this is just an outline, but a direction that makes more sense than trying to fit an overhall health program on to a system that contains many misconceptions, misdirections,
and ultimately uncontrollabe growth.
