It's that important.

Ellen reaches far and wide in this country. In rural West Virginia where I'm from, I can't tell you how many times I heard, "I love Ellen. I watch her whenever I can.", while I was home visiting. Her message can reach places no one else can.

Thank you Ellen!

Too bad the candidates can't take on issues like this and speak as forthrightly and clearly addressing hatred and intolerance.

Two Tragedies
By docseuss Mar 1st 2008 at 9:54 pm EST
This tragedy, unfortunately, was overshadowed by the tragic shooting at the University of Northern Illinois on the same day. So, it didn't really receive the press coverage it may have if it would have happened a different day. But, this is just another one of the reasons that we need a National Hate Crimes Law that includes GLBT people. The general public isn't aware that this is happening today.
