OK...so we all love Pink and we always have. She's great. Guts, intelligence, political awareness, courage to speak out. She's got it all and we love her for it. Now we love her even more.
Her latest song from her album I'm Not Dead. It's called Dear Mr. President and it features the Indigo Girls. Yes, those Indigo Girls. The wonderful duo from Atlanta who recently helped pioneer the way for political singing/song-writing.
Pink's song is moving, powerful, and best of all, it'll get heard by the masses because of her huge star power. Here are the powerful lyrics to Pink's new song.
Oh, and yes, please go out and support these artists by buying their music. I'm sure we'll see a right-wing backlash against Pink because of this. Let's help her out by showing our support with our dollars. I think she deserves it.

(feat. Indigo Girls)
Dear Mr. President
Come take a walk with me
Let's pretend we're just two people and
You're not better than me
I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly
What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep
What do you feel when you look in the mirror
Are you proud
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why
Dear Mr. President
Were you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
How can you say
No child is left behind
We're not dumb and we're not blind
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pay the road to hell
What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye
Let me tell you bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
You don't know nothing bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
Oh
How do you sleep at night
How do you walk with your head held high
Dear Mr. President
You'd never take a walk with me
Would you

Thanks for your time.
Writing a song if you're so famous is the best way to say "Stop, that isn't right!" The song is one of the best anti-political song i ever heard!!!
I hear it and think, maybe i must write a song too. It would call:"Dear Mrs. Bundeskanzlerin"=)
P!nk do it again and make more of these so beautiful signs!!!Thanks
Oh yeah for fathers and their daughter, a choice is made when you choose to have sex, not when you to choose to take a life.
And a father can love a gay daughter without agreeing with her lifestyle, the same as he can love a daughter if she does anything else that he may not agree with, be it drink to much, drugs or anything. Does not mean jsut because you do not like what someones does that you hate them.
Singing a song does not make things right, everyone including the people sing the song, the president and all of the US citizens have to work at jobs, at making this a better country, at helping each other and that is not done by putting the president down or not having respect for the position of the president.
Disagreeing with this president or any president is ok, but tell you senators, don't tell it in a song.
Although the points you made were excellent, they weren't enough to change my mind. I still believe that one of the best things P!ink did was make a song such as this. To get the awareness out there to teenagers and others who rarely listen to or pay attention to the news.
Love you much,
Tabitha
"Oh yeah for fathers and their daughter, a choice is made when you choose to have sex, not when you to choose to take a life." - Oh yeah, um you don't get the point. The point she was making in the song had a double edge to it. One of the points was about abortion, which by the way is not your business since you're more than likely a man who wouldn't know dick about taking care of a child. The second point was when Bush put one of his education bills in place and now his own daughter can't get a job in teaching because of it. She should have the RIGHT to get a job in her field but because of her father, she can't. And a choice is not always made to have sex, I'm sure you've heard of rape. And Bush chooses to take lives EVERYDAY both Americans and Iraqis, so get over it. The law states that a baby is only a baby when it draws it's first breath outside of the uterus, otherwise it's not a baby, and it's not your business either way. You're not to decide that a baby's life is worth more than a person already living in this world. Do not judge, lest ye be judged.
"And a father can love a gay daughter without agreeing with her lifestyle, the same as he can love a daughter if she does anything else that he may not agree with, be it drink to much, drugs or anything. Does not mean jsut because you do not like what someones does that you hate them." - I doubt it, especially when Cheney outright backs up the idea of adding a Constitutional Amendment to BAN gay marriage, that doesn't sound very loving to me. No, it makes him a hypocrite to sit there and try to force religious beliefs into the Constitution, when Separation of Church and State is there for a reason, at the same time as kissing the gay community's ass by taking promo pics with his GAY daughter's child. His own daughter didn't get promos with her daughter done, but he did. Talk about trying to capitalize.
"Singing a song does not make things right, everyone including the people sing the song, the president and all of the US citizens have to work at jobs, at making this a better country, at helping each other and that is not done by putting the president down or not having respect for the position of the president." - And talking yourself in circles doesn't make it any less right. Really? Because I and a lot of other people in this country don't see the President doing anything, which is why the country is so screwed up. You're delusional if you actually believe anything that you say. Give me a break. It's unAmerican to NOT put down the President when he's doing a suck job. Respect is to be EARNED it is NOT given, and this President has NOT earned it, so he's not getting it. Too bad for you.
"Disagreeing with this president or any president is ok, but tell you senators, don't tell it in a song." - Tell that to country singers who make money from the military and national tragedies and idiots like you don't seem to see a problem with that. Singers have a right to sing about whatever they want, and just as you Republicans say, "If you don't like it, turn it off."
This Administration is one of the worst there has ever been, they have started a war to pad their pockets...Bush and Chaney will go down in History as being the worst....
I have written a poem about this that can be see on my blog at WWW.myspace.com/tamra68.....
It's called "BLOOD IN THE SEA"
