Peter Blake in the News today:
The GOP has a mere 18-17 majority (in the Colorado Senate). Yet at least two (and possibly three) Republican senators are going to run for their party's nomination in the 3rd Congressional District next winter and spring. They'll want to make as many campaign appearances on the Western Slope as possible, but they can't be spared when important partisan votes are scheduled.
We're concerned this will just mean more last-minute Kinkos bombs for the controversial stuff, like last year's redistricting. Shove it all secretly in over an end-of-session weekend to control the time commitments required. And even more procedural fiat (is that possible?) ;the Majority won't want no stinkin' debate about issues if that'll upset the calendar...
