Rocky letter-writer points out the hypocrisy behind Le Horowitz' denials .. as well as the pretense of the conservatives on the attack against higher ed in Colorado:
It's just a bit disingenuous for letter writer David Horowitz to claim that he doesn't rail against "leftist education" in his academic freedom campaign ("Agenda clear in story about diversity," Talk Back to the Media, Jan. 17). His entire argument for ridding university classrooms of politics is based on scathing indictments of liberal bias in the curricular and noncurricular activities of professors and institutions.
...Efforts to purge the classroom of politics risk throwing useful babies out with the bath water. Horowitz would make more sense if he admitted that what he really wants is to add a few more conservatives to the tub.

But of course its always only been about power! Conservatives want control of higher ed, whether by flowing tax dollars away from the public and to Christian college scholarships or by repressing the speech of those who might disagree with them on campus...
As has been pointed out, the $100s of millions of dollars they've spent on parallel-universe "think tanks" is the more appropriate investment for them -- a fact free echo-chamber environment....
