Bell Policy Center hosts new blog on health care reform in Colorado

Today the Bell Policy Center launched Health Blog, a forum for health care experts and the public to discuss health care reform efforts now under way in Colorado.
"Health Blog will give people all over Colorado access to the debate over how to fix our health care system," said Wade Buchanan, Bell Policy Center president.

Health Blog is designed to track the work of the Colorado Blue Ribbon Commission on Health Care Reform and provide a public forum to debate aspects of health care reform. It will continue into 2008 as a way to follow and discuss health care legislation.
A key part of the commission's work is to take public comment on reform proposals from people across Colorado. The Bell Policy Center is hosting Health Blog as one avenue for Colorado residents to learn about and comment on the commission's ideas.
"Blogging has become America's backyard fence, where people share ideas about what is on their minds -- and that certainly includes health care," Buchanan said.
Health Blog launched today with an introductory post from the Bell Policy Center. Over the next four days, proponents of the four health care reform plans selected by the Blue Ribbon Commission will post blogs explaining their plans.
Comments are welcome. To post a comment, create a new account on the blog. All that's necessary is a name, a user name and a valid e-mail address. The blog generates a quick e-mail to provide a password (which can be changed). The commenter can then log in and post comments of up to 250 words in response to existing posts.
Registered users who want to enter longer posts or original posts may request "preferred blogger" status by filling out a simple form. The Health Blog administrator will send out a confirmation by the next business day.
"This new online forum marks the Bell's formal entry into the blogosphere," said Buchanan. "Hosting a blog ties in nicely with our mission to invigorate the debate on issues affecting the well-being of Coloradans. We are looking for some lively discussion on what makes the most sense for Colorado."
