BROOMFIELD WOMEN DEMOCRATS PACK THE HOUSE
AT THEIR KICK OFF

May 31, 2006

The Broomfield Women Democrats held a Membership drive "Kick off" event tonight at The Canyon Café in "The Village" at Flatirons Crossing Mall in Broomfield. About fifty women attended the event. Guest speakers included Representative Alice Madden, Colorado State House Majority Leader, Evie Hudak, State Board of Education Representative, Karen Stuart, Mayor of Broomfield, Barbara O'Brien, candidate for Colorado Lieutenant Governor, Diane Primavera, candidate for Colorado House District 33, and Heather Barry, candidate for RTD Board, District J. Speakers talked about their experiences as women running for public office.

Carol Newman-Holitza, Broomfield Women Dems Chair, encouraged attendees to think about running for office and gave information about resources available to prospective candidates. Guests were invited to become members of the Broomfield Women Democrats organization and to work for candidates concerned about women's issues in the upcoming election in November.

Interested women will find information on how to join this organization and the Broomfield Women Democrats Newsletter on the Broomfield County Democrats web site www.broomfieldcountydems.org.

I wanted to tell you "Good job this afternoon! I learned much and thank you," but couldn't see how to do so on the Web site.

I think your Web site needs work.
