I am not completely down with the whole points thing.
I mean, how much time can you spend online if you're trying to keep a roof over your family's head.
I think it's kinda unfairly weighted toward the yuppie single.
Not to mention the fact that, eh-hem, some of us do campaign work, and ethically cannot spread ourselves all over the map, when we have some primary responsibilites like getting issues passed or people elected.

This isn't just for election season

The new "My Points" feature in the MyProgress section (for those who don't know about it yet), is a way to earn points for certain actions you take on the site. This isn't a short-term thing. It will exist beyond the election season. We also can add points for activities people engage in offline. From time to time we'll be able to have fun with it by rewarding the most active people. That won't necessarily always be the most active people overall, but could also be the most active people over a defined period of time. This isn't intended to be a real competitive thing. It's intended to recognize activists for their work. And what we do with the program is really up to members. We want to hear from everyone how you'd like to see this work.
