Bet you never imagined you'd see your name in the Washington Times. I think any opposition to Ritter seems to be dwindling. I've been told, second-hand, that Ritter is generally with us on most of the major gay rights issues. He really does seem to be someone shaping up to be a formidable candidate. I think if the Republicans are counting on apathy among the liberal ranks they're going to be very disappointed in November.

gusto for ritter not important, gays coming out to vote this november

I invited some friends to the Drinking Liberally event. One wasn’t interesting in coming, he mentioned Ritter's stance on abortion as a red flag for his stance on gay issues. So the question I asked Ritter was, "What do you have to say to gays who are concerned about this?"

He said he was against the constitutional marriage ban, for domestic partner benefits, and for banning employment discrimination.

When I was talking to the WT reporter, I told her that my feelings for Ritter are similar to those that I had for Kerrey -- no enthusiasm. But she pointed out that he'll be helped because gays won't be coming out to vote for governor -- they'll get out to vote anyway, for the ballot issues.
