For many years I beleived that the "Bully with a Badge" stereotype was a juvenile attack on law enforcement; then I actually met one. Now I read this "news" story and recognize another deserving holder of that title.

Union City had better hope their liability insurance policy will cover some of the costs of the counter-lawsuit this incident deserves.

This is attrocious police procedure. Under no circumstances should this officer have been permitted by his supervisors to write a citation and jail a suspect when he was the reported victim. This is a ludicrous conflict of interest and abuse of official powers.
