Our call for advertisers to pull their funds from "Gunny" Bob Newman's 850 KOA radio show is gaining momentum rapidly. Today, in response to your phone calls and letters, another former "Gunny" Bob advertiser, Ralph Schomp Automotive, has agreed that their money and good name should not be associated with hate radio.
Michael, I just spoke with Marty Kroll and he is working on getting the advertising taken off the Gunny Bob show. He will be talking with KOA again tomorrow. He said, there is a ball game in that time slot on Tue. Wed. and Friday and will try to get it taken off on Thursday. Lisa had called him yesterday so he had already started working on it. That spot was not chosen it just fell in the package.
If I can be of any further help or you need any more information please give me a call or you can e-mail me...
Sandy [Luebben, Ralph Schomp Automotive]
We thank Schomp Automotive for their prompt response, and they are to be commended for stepping up and taking responsibility for their advertising. As with other sponsors, Schomp Automotive didn't specifically request ad time on the "Gunny" Bob show -- and once they were advised of the kind of hate speech they were subsidizing, they took action to stop it. That's corporate responsibility, and our members appreciate it.
Keep the pressure on other sponsors! Click here to see the list and give them a call, and let us know what they said.
