In order to preserve our liberties, we must not allow hate and bigotry to go unanswered.
Earlier this week a popular right-wing host on Denver's KOA radio, "Gunny" Bob Newman, stated on-air that "every Muslim immigrant to America who holds a green card, a visa, or who is a naturalized citizen [should] be required by law to wear a GPS tracking bracelet at all times," and that the government should "bug their places of work and their residences" and monitor "[a]ll mosques and community centers."
During World War II, people like Gunny Bob stoked the fears that resulted in tens of thousands of Japanese Americans being rounded up and sent to prison camps in the name of national security. This was a dark time in our nation's history and we must not allow it to happen again.
To the extent that anyone's rights are not protected under the Constitution, no one's rights are protected. Of course, Gunny Bob has the right to speak his mind freely. But we also have the right to respond to him with one loud voice, telling Gunny Bob, KOA radio, and their sponsors that we will not tolerate hate.

What are you people going to do when others want to stop your right to speak your opinion?

Groups or individiduals who cultivate fear, hatred, and or violence are not guaranteed cart blanche by the constitution or our laws. We are a nation of dissenters. Let us not confuse dissent with prejudice and discrimination. One may exercise free speech but they may not stand on a street corner naked and shout profanities.
In the case of Bob Newman and all media employees, they are responsible to an even higher standard of communication and integrity. It is our obligation as citizens and consumers to hold the media accountable, if we are to honor liberty and the spirit of our United States Constitution.
I'll make some phone calls.

So, Ralph Schomp can spend their advertising dollars elsewhere. But note that not only will I never buy another car from them, but I will do everything I can to spread the word that they are what they are: a shill for the left. If I ever ate at Three Tomatoes I'd stop eating there, but I don't. I'll just stay away. Can someone tell me if this is the chain, or just the one in Golden? Oh, my roof is new so I guess Excel is off the hook with me. I would think a roofer would have better sense.
Are you truly that ignorant? Of course he has the right to freedom of speech but when he is insulting a specific group of people just because a few have gone astray, you can not tell me that is right. I am a Muslim American who happens to be in the military and you are telling me that I am not supposed to be offended by his comment? So I suppose it would be ok to bug and moniter all Christians as well because they too do acts of terrorism. Blowing up abortion clinics, in my mind, is a form of terrorism. I think that Americans in general have a disorted opinion of Muslims and I suggest you get all the facts on our religion before you go supporting people like Gunny Bob!
