Denver--
ProgressNow Colorado called on Colorado Senator Josh Penry to explain the use of the Nazi swastika at his press conference, held in objection to President Obama's signing of the Economic Recovery Act in Denver yesterday. Penry, the Colorado Senate Minority leader, organized the press conference in which both he and syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin joined "Swastika Guy" on stage. Photos of Penry and Malkin appearing with "Swastika Guy" are appearing all over Colorado and national blogs today.

"We call on Senator Penry and fellow Republicans to condemn the use of the Nazi swastika at their press conference," stated Huttner.

Senator Penry, Michelle Malkin, and "Swastika Guy"--who has not been publicly identified--joined together for a Republican press conference at the West Steps of the state Capitol protesting Obama's signing of the Economic Recovery Act.

"Does Penry support the misuse of the Nazi swastika for political self-gain?" asked Huttner.  "We do not need Penry and Malkin to return Colorado to the hate state."  Businesses boycotted Colorado costing the state millions when it became the Hate State in 1992 after the right-wing passed Amendment 2--later thrown out by the U.S. Supreme Court.

"The public deserves to know what the relationship is between the 'Swastika Guy' and Senator Penry, Michelle Malkin and the other Republicans on stage," he added.

The press conference, held yesterday, was organized by Penry with the keynote address given by Malkin, who has recently returned to Colorado.  Malkin is known for right-wing controversies, including supporting torture of detainees and even defending the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II.

Free speech that is all that needed to be said, sorry if you liberals feelings got hurt because somebody voiced his free speech oh that's right its OK for the loony left to burn flags protesting the right but no we can't have the right protesting the left, you are a bunch of hypercritical nut jobs only the left have freedom of speech. Oh, that's right you are pushing for the fairness doctrine again, so everybody can only hear what you want them to hear and no opposing views.

Are you the guy with the Nazi symbol on the sign? No matter......let's deal in facts, OK?

What political party squandered an inherited budget surplus to the point of unprecedented financial ruin when it assumed the office of the President of the United States in January of 2001?

What poltical party was in complete control until 2 short years ago - of congress when its leader was selling legislative influence to the highest bidder - who also pled guilty to charges of corruption and sentenced to federal prison ( Hint: This leaders nickname was "The hammer" )

What federal Dept. of Justice leader stepped down amid charges ( substantiated ) of using a political litmus test and passing up more qualified candidates in favor of those with the proper "conservative" views for positions within the the Dept. of Justice? ( his initials are R.G. )

This could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the idea....

Are any of them "Liberal"?

"What political party squandered an inherited budget surplus to the point of unprecedented financial ruin when it assumed the office of the President of the United States in January of 2001?"

-- And perhaps the budget surplus would have continued if the previous administration had done what was needed to keep America safe. But because they didnt, GWB had to do what needed to be done to keep us safe.

"What poltical party was in complete control until 2 short years ago - of congress when its leader was selling legislative influence to the highest bidder..."

--- Pot, meet kettle. Not only is the democrat congress showing its corruption and obvious distain for the american people, we now have a tax cheat running the IRS, a criminal running the justice department, and a Chief of Staff selling Illinois senate seats.

This could go on and on, but Im sure you get the idea...

Your counterpoints lack merit, but you do go on and on.

For instance: GWB "had to do what needed to be done to keep us safe"?? Please tell me you're kidding. Osama Bin Laden is still at large. GWB et. al. lied the country into a sensless war, and over 4000 American young men and women have lost their lives for that?? That, my friend is the all to real tragedy the families of the dead are living with. If you can at least articulate what "Victory" means in Iraq, I might agree that GWB "kept us safe". ( John Stewart / The Daily show )

As to your other counterpoints....where are the specifics??

"GWB et. al. lied the country into a sensless war, and over 4000 American young men and women have lost their lives for that??"

-- I realize this may be beyond your comprehension, but all members of the military take an oath to "protect and defend the Constitution... and to follow all lawful orders.... In case you forgot, the United States was attacked on 9/11 and 3000 people died because of it. I knew people affected by that attack. I knew some of the 4000 people that have died to give you the right to say what you want because of the Constitution.

I am quite impressed that you were able to use such typical keywords such as lied and senseless, which is normal leftist wordplay. If you would really like to take about "lied", who was it that went to Africa to investigate yellowcake uranium? Oh, thats right, the husband of a CIA secretary. And what about Sandy Burglar... but thats neither here or there. And the "senseless" war.... that has freed 50,000,000 Iraqi people that have a government they are free to vote for. 4,000 lives to free 50 million people, Id say thats pretty good odds. If you want a senseless war, how did ya like JFKs lil party in Viet Nam?

"That, my friend is the all to real tragedy the families of the dead are living with."

-- No, the real tragedy is the fact that the left cant make an intelligent argument about 9/11, the Cole bombing, the Beirut Barracks, the 1993 attack on the WTC, Kobar Towers, or the african embassy attacks. The real tragedy is the willingness of the left to demean all the lives lost by talking about the "lies" the President told and the "senseless war". Yea, its senseless to protect the american people, its senseless to hold known terrorists, its senseless to follow the Geneva Conventions. Is it also senseless to spend 1 TRILLION dollars and tell the Department of Defense to cut their budget by 55 Billion dollars?

And your best response is to quote Jon Stewart??

Actually no. I think my best response was to point out that Osama Bin Laden is STILL at large. As for my opinion that the invasion of Iraq was needless, why don't you contact Veterans against the war in Iraq, and ask them?

You, my friend, are spouting the same tired rhetoric the hysterical right has been parroting for years: If ANYONE questions why we invaded Iraq, they must not support the troops! Damn liberals!!

Check out the facts re Clinton's handling of the the Bin Laden question. The Clinton administration brought GWB people up to speed on Bin Laden, and the Bushies DID NOTHING. NOTHING. After 9-11, what does Bush and Darth Cheney do? Why invade Iraq, of course. After 4000 plus American lives lost, I think we owe it to the families to get Bin Laden, don't you? That should have been done over 7 years ago.

BTW, check out a pshycological condition reffered to as "projection".

The right wingnuts have been guilty of this for years....

Why do I need to ask "Veterans against the war" when I am a veteran OF the war?

And you continue to spew the same rhetoric we heard for the past 8 years. "Bush lied, people died" got old about 7 years ago, but you continue to rant on about it. Allow me to point out a few things that seem to point to the fact of liberals distain for the military.... 1 TRILLION dollar spending bill and ordering a cut of 55 Billion dollars from the DOD budget; Cutting new weapons development, cutting proven weapons platforms and systems, Hillary refusing to allow White House Marines to wear uniforms except when serving at formal dinners, San Francisco/Berkeley treatment of the military and recruiters, the forced expulsion of military recruiters from HS and college campuses. Liberals decry GITMO but fail to understand the Geneva Conventions or the ramifications of closing it.

And now you fall into more typical liberal mantra..... "Bushies", "Darth Cheney", "Bushies did NOTHING!".... Its great that Clinton brought Bush up to speed on Bin Laden, but he also failed to do anything about him even when served up to Clinton on a silver platter. Clinton failed to do anything about Bin Laden for 8 years, even after a direct attack on the US in 1993, but you feel Bush failed to do anything to stop Bin Laden for 7 months prior to 9/11? If it needs to be said, Bin Laden could have been taken out 14 years ago if Clinton had the guts to do it.

And now things have come full circle. You blame Bush for not getting Bin Laden; I blame Clinton for not getting Bin Laden. Liberals daily called the Bush Administration Nazi's, Socialists, etc, but when a conservative group gets together and a swastika shows up, all bets are off and the conservatives are the bad guys.

Assuming all the bad things you say about the Clintons are true, you have to admit we were much better off at the end of Clinton's 8 years in office than we are at the end of Dubya's 8 years.

It's always struck me as the ultimate insult to the military to be used in such a manner as are armed forces have been under the deferrement seeking combat action avoiding Cheney / Bush team. I'll bet you were among the group calling John Kerry a "coward", and helping to spread the big lie(s) that the sleazy "Swift boat veterans for truth" put forth. The irony of that, is that Kerry was and is the genuine artricle, and Bush and Cheney did all they could to avoid service. No, Liberals hold no disdain for the military. In fact, it was the neoconservatives in Washington that were responsible for the crappy disregard of wounded vets in Walter Reed Hospital.

Check the records. as many or even more "liberals" have served with honor than conservatives have. I'll put J.F.K.'s record up against ANY conservative any time.
