In the end, it was too much for Greg Stevinson, who hopes to emerge on November 2nd with his good name still intact.

Developer Greg Stevinson has resigned from the board of the Independence Institute, saying he is "uncomfortable" with the institute president's aggressive attacks on Referendums C and D.
Stevinson also is concerned that the nonprofit think tank won't say who is funding its campaign against Refs C and D.
Stevinson, who opposes Refs C and D, wrote in his Oct. 4 resignation letter that the institute "has never walked away from a good fight."
"I do not, however, remember us ever getting this close to knowingly misrepresenting facts and walking so close to the precipice of the campaign finance laws."
Gov. Bill Owens, who supports Refs C and D, said he thinks Stevinson's resignation could sway some conservatives to vote for the measures.
"The fact that Greg Stevinson takes offense to factual misstatements of Jon Caldara and the Independence Institute has to cause voters to wonder who to believe in this debate," said Owens, who learned of Stevinson's resignation from the Rocky Mountain News on Wednesday.
