The trouble with Robert Corry

The Independence Institute hires some very...ah, colorful individuals.
You've got Jon Caldara, fiery radio host of record, and also a former RTD Board member. He was on the board for the express purpose of undermining public transportation --
You've got State Senate President John Andrews, who founded the Institute, and who has spent the last year witch-hunting college faculty with David Horowitz while forcing those institutions closer to inevitable TABORized bankruptcy --
You've got 'research director' and planted Rocky Mountain News editorialist Dave Kopel, who's extensive skills don't seem to extend to geography --
You've got Campus Accountability Project director-turned State Senate candidate Jessica Peck Corry, who before seeking office was the tip of the ABOR spear as the II's chief campus operative --
And you've got her husband, Robert J. Corry, chief counsel for the very same Campus Accountability Project, and anti-affirmative action attorney of national fame.
He also appears to like guns. So much so, that he was sent to jail in 1998 for drunkenly brandishing one in downtown Washington, DC:

Maybe Reggie Rivers can ask a couple of questions next time this guy crashes his show? Don't bet on it.
The bottom line? We're talking about the 'premiere' conservative interest group in the state. And it seems to be staffed with an eye-popping cadre of ruthless, conniving, possibly dangerous people --
Before they drove off, the man looked back and saw Corry standing in the middle of the street about four car lengths away "peering through the scope of a rifle that he was pointing directly at" the man and his two friends, according to the affidavit.
After the car sped away, they called the police. Officers who arrived at Corry's apartment did not get an answer. When police tried a few hours later, they found Corry there and obtained a search warrant for the apartment. Police found the rifle, a .12-gauge shotgun, a .22 caliber revolver and 800 rounds of ammunition, according to the affidavit. Corry was arrested at about 7 a.m. Friday, and became belligerent with police, boasting of his political clout and connections and that he would be free "after a few phone calls" were made, according to a source knowledgeable with the scene who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Sounds like you’ve been smoking some of Robert’s stash.
But hey, maybe you’re right; I mean, they are good parents.
What good parent isn’t an alcoholic gun enthusiast, with a penchant to rape women on occasion? Obviously Mr. Corry seems to have all the qualities of a great father.
And Mrs. Corry? She’s pristine! A self-aggrandizing, gold-digging, muck thrower, with a penchant to make out with her own mug, (speaking of mug-shots, Rob may be cute, but he is no Scott Peterson)…
Anyway, what a lucky kid.
So how about them Nuggets?
Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but the publicly-available evidence certainly seems damning. I withold judgement, but I am always skeptical of people who are a bit too zealous to condemn or -- in your case -- to defend.
Only two people were in that room that night, and only they know the truth. But in order to find out what actually happened, you must be able to accept the possibility that "good" people can still do very bad things.
Let's also not forget about the alleged victim. While many people are falsely accused of sexual assault, it takes a lot for someone to come forward and subject themselves to the trauma of discovery and cross examination. Who does that for fun? For this reason, our justice system takes claims from alleged victims seriously -- and so should we.
That doesn't mean we believe anything we hear, but we certainly don't reflexively trash a potential victim just because we have formed a favorable impression of Mr. Corry in our day-to-day interactions with him. Sexual assault involves people at their most intimate and -- paradoxically -- anonymous. For this reason, it often involves aspects of a person that ellude the perception of both close and superficial acquaintances. It is therefore not only possible, but likely, that -- if Mr. Corry is guilty -- you would not have seen this dark side of his personality.
There are no winners here, but whether you like Mr. Corry or not, the only reasonable response you can have is to hope that justice (guilty or innocent) will be served.
The justice system is trying on all parties involved, but no one would be willing to go through this debacle without dedication to the pursuit of justice and truth. Ranting is fun, but not when it comes at the expense of innocent people affected by one man's horrible actions. Let Rob Corry have his day in court, all Americans are afforded that. If the evidence is as substantial as it seems to be, I am sure the justice will prevail.

This is sounding like an attack on her and I really don't mean it that way. Individually she's a stellar person, bright, articulate, but when it comes to issues with the opposite sex, she has too many (issues). This strikes me as her way of setting a line in the sand for herself to see if she can stop (as much as stopping drinking seems critical for Rob).
By the way, your gigs up. Caldera has a better chance finding the cure for baldness than you coming out of this unsoiled.

This is obviously a horrible situation for everyone, but I dont think anyone should go on a website under the cover of anonymity and toss accusations around like this.
All of you people who have so many "inside scoops," please let me know how you came to be such a knowledgeable player. I'm calling bs on this crap.
I look forward to the truth coming out about this but until then, either back up your cheap shots with facts or shut the hell up.

Only the two people involved know what happened. While I vigorously uphold a rape victim's rights, also the rights of the accused have to be considered as well. I still cannot understand how a case with no forensic evidence and nothing other than a 'he said / she said' evidence can be brought to trial never mind reach a conclusion.

Almost ten years later, this guy is still so desparate to puff himself up and mislead potential clients that he makes it sound like he was universally acclaimed at Stanford with cries of "Huzzah." The Stanford Review isn't even a law-school publication. Instead, it's one of those fake right-wing college newspapers or journals funded by extreme right-wingers to make their reactionary views seem mainstream.
