Post from Alan Franklin:
Tell the DEA to stay out of Colorado politics

This past weekend, the Boulder Daily Camera reported that the agents of the federal Drug Enforcement Agency are organizing in opposition to Colorado's Amendment 44, a ballot initiative which would eliminate criminal penalties under Colorado law for the possession of small amounts of marijuana.

The DEA has, according to the Rocky Mountain News, already spent $10,000 retaining a campaign manager to fight Amendment 44. The conservative News editorial board notes that "not only could the federal government's vast resources distort the tenor of debate within a state, it would also force out-of-state taxpayers to underwrite political campaigns that have no impact on them."

All Colorado citizens are free to participate in our electoral process, but the DEA's heavy-handed involvement in this issue is grossly inappropriate. Federal taxpayer dollars should never be used to impose the federal government's will on a local ballot question.

Click below: tell the DEA to stop spending our taxpayer money trying to manipulate our local elections.

About as crafty with this stuff as Bob Beauprez's campaign manager, I see. Both Ways DEA, anyone?
