Denver: Moments ago, Congressman Scott McInnis announced he will not run for the U.S. Senate in 2008, claiming he is not right for Colorado. In January, ProgressNowAction launched McLobbyist.com to expose Congressman McInnis' history of ethics challenges and conflicts of interest as a lobbyist.
With McInnis out of the race, the field is now open for others like ex-Congressman Bob Schaffer to announce his run for the U.S. Senate in Colorado.
“Backwards Bob makes Scott McLobbyist McInnis look like a saint,” stated Michael Huttner, Executive Director of ProgressNowAction. “Backwards Bob is completely out of touch with Colorado values. So backwards that he was on the losing side of Referendum C—which moderate Republicans, including Governor Owens, supported-- and on the wrong side of Referendum A which proposed taking water away from the Western Slope,” added Huttner.
ProgressNowAction will be launching the website www.BackwardsBob.org this week.
