New Colorado rightie blogs are springing up faster than you can say "I'm Dick Wadhams" three times while clicking your heels together. Agreed, that does take a minute or so, what with the chuckling and admiration of your dainty lower shins and so forth. While not lacking in quantity, these new entries have got one unmistakable thing more or less in common:

That would be the same utterly generic Blogger.com template. Of course, if you visit Blogger.com you can make your own (or two or three, cha cha cha) in about five minutes. And there are surely times when that's exactly what you need--you know, for when you want that "We don't even know how to make a MySpace page" authoritativeness.
I think we can all agree that if nothing else, the use of such an amateurish platform to then talk their insufferable Mike Rosen phonics-intro smack is worthy of pointing out, and I reserve full trade-level denigration privileges. Seriously, bloggers, they need to be busted down to apprentice, they're (he's?) cheapening our art.
You're right, I'm not giving these earnest little newcomers their due--undoubtedly they are all different corporeal persons, each with their own uniquely angry perspective on the world. And here they are! Pipe down for a minute, this is the part where they tell us how it's just in the nick of time.
It's just you can't really tell yet, because, like Republicans love to say, they all look the same to me...

Next would be the appearance of neo-con talking head claims of a massive growth of support for their position in the blogosphere. New lines of conflict are being drawn for 2008.
Everything about these blogs indicates the person(s) behind them are n00bs. They believe in the mantra, "If you build it, they will come." But in reality, websites and blogs are plentiful, and all in competition for a finite pool of eyeballs.
What makes a successful blog, one with many readers and contributors, is CONTENT. Content produced on an ongoing, regular basis.
It will be interesting to watch and see if they can in fact play the game they're signing up for.
