Colorado Military Families Call on President Bush to Meet with them while he is in Denver to Articulate his Strategy for Bringing the Troops Home

Denver: Representatives of Colorado families who have family members serving in Iraq called on President Bush to meet with them during his Friday visit to Denver to articulate to them his strategy for bringing the troops home.  The family members then laid 34 red and white carnations at the base of the Colorado Veterans' memorial representing each of Colorado's sons and daughters killed in Iraq.

"Mr. President, you declared victory a long time ago; why are our loved ones still dying in Iraq?" asked Anne Barton of Denver whose son, age 34 is serving in the army in Iraq.  "We ask that you meet with us while you are in Denver and articulate your strategy for bringing our loved ones home."

"I am afraid for my only child who is a marine and serves at the will of this President," stated Pamela Osborne of Denver.  Osborne's son, age 19, is in the Marines and is currently in boot camp and is slated to be sent to Iraq later this year.  "Our troops need to come home now in order to defend America should we be truly threatened," stated Susan Rouse of Denver whose son is in the Navy and will be soon sent to Iraq.

Barton Osborne and Rouse are representatives of the new Colorado Chapter of Military Families Speak  Out.(MFSO)  The groups now represents over 3,000 families across the country who wish to 1.  End the occupation of Iraq, 2. Bring the troops home now 3.  Take care of the troops of when they get home and 4.  End the policies that allowed the war to happened in the first place.  MFSO was founded in 2002 and the Colorado chapter was  formed earlier this month.
