Many of you know I've spent the past five years championing a sane and sustainable approach to growth in the Pikes Peak region. The roadblocks I've encountered led to the realization that society needs to examine and adjust our prosperity paradigm. Since I'm a professional filmmaker, I decided the best way to begin is with a documentary film. So I've started a nonprofit and am producing the documentary, GROWTHBUSTERS presents Hooked on Growth: Our Misguided Quest for Prosperity.
Hooked on Growth examines the sustainability of society's worship of growth everlasting. Nothing is sacred in this film that dares to hold up a mirror so we can see the norms, systems and psychology that drive us to seek more, more, more in the face of overwhelming evidence we're demolishing our own home (planet Earth) in the process. This is a full-length, theater-ready, broadcast-quality high-definition documentary for national distribution in late 2008. You can read more about the film at www.growthbusters.com
I'm building an extensive online network of supporters to…
- spread the word about true sustainability,
- help fund the documentary budget with modest, tax-deductible donations,
- volunteer time to the project,
- connect us to major donors, and
- purchase DVDs and arrange screenings in your communities when it's complete.
I cannot do this without the support of enlightened people like you. I would certainly value your help - if you believe like I do that our world must kick the habit of growth addiction. Whether you're just curious or want to be an ardent supporter, there's a free subscription option for you. You can easily unsubscribe at any time if the urge strikes you, and we won't share your email address with anyone.
Also please consider sharing this news with 200 of your closest friends. If you fail to do so within 30 minutes, serious bad luck will befall the planet!
You can learn more about this 501(c)3 project, subscribe to updates, volunteer, join our advisory panel, and/or donate by visiting www.growthbusters.com.
I hope you'll join me in my commitment to raising awareness about this critical topic, so we can begin to make the changes that are critical to the quality of life - and very survival - of our children and grandchildren. I look forward to your advice, community and support in this.

Just a reminder: Placing ads with such organizations as the Independent Filmmakers Alliance, IndieWire, or Filmmaker magazine networking and financing? For example, I used to own an art gallery in Denver and placed a "call for entries" 3 liner back pages ad for a monthly video art show in a national magazine (the Independent magazine). Over the next six months I received over twenty videos to show.
There are chapters of such competitions as 48 Hour Film Project which has memberships available in Colorado or The Shootout 24 Hour Filmmaking competition (Boulder based) that would help with the needs that you have listed.

Thanks for reading my blog and the post. Link
Your project looks very valuable, and I would love to help you in any way I can. I am currently working on projects at the United Nations, but if I can be of assistance to you-be it an interview, writing, research--I have all of those skills and would be happy to help.
Just let me know.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Autumn, MBA
