This is what Elizabeth Edwards has to say to Terrorist Ann:

Link

Isn't it about time for all progressive/liberal/republican/libertarian candidates to disavow?

Why is Ann Coulter still being asked to appear on the national stage rather then being relegated to being on a street corner soap box?

Since this nation "is at war with terrorism" then I would say that Ann Coulter is a terrorist bent on murdering other human beings because she is evil.

There is no reasoning with evil. Evil must be destroyed by any means necessary.

We are at war with evil people.

If you believe in the Bush mantra.
We hope all of you who think VP Cheney has violated the Constitution
and Federal Laws and richly deserves Impeachment

will join us Wednesday at 5 pm at Colfax & Broadway
in front of the RM News-Denver Post Building.

We need to keep Impeachment "on the table".

We can't do it without you.

We have signs... just show up.

Thanks
I agree with Todd Gitlin, Talkingpointsmemo.com blogger, that Rep. Rahm Emanuel "has introduced a bill to delete spending for Cheney's office on the ground that Cheney claims, when convenient, that the vice-president's office is not "an entity within the executive branch."

Gitlin adds this:

Update Tuesday morning: The Hill reports that Dick Durbin and Chuck Schumer are talking about Senate legislation parallel to Rahm's, and Dianne Feinstein made sympathetic noises on Fox News Sunday

Read the full story here Link .

Who can meet with our elected representatives this week to support Rep. Rahm and Sen. Durbin's proposed legislation?

Who can call to support them?

When the executive branch makes a case that is clearly unconstitutional then it is time to pull their funding.
Give a big "Thank You" to Senator Salazar for a U.S. Supreme Court under the so-called leadership of John Roberts.

From Digby:

"I think we need to start thinking about how to deal with the new era of wingnut judicial activism. If anyone actually thought the Warren Court was activist for trying to right long standing social inequality, they haven't seen anything until they see what John, Clarence, Nino, Sammy and Tony do to expand the rights of rich people and corporations while turning back the clock on everything else. It's going to be a generational battle. I hope everyone realizes this.

I will never forgive Joe Lieberman, Huckelberry, St John and the the rest of the milquetoast losers of that gang of 14. This is on their heads."

From the rulings on the "Bong Hits 4 Jesus" case to the case of equal pay discrimination is but a taste of what this Court wants to "undo"- the progressive ideals that have brought about a sustainable middle class, justice for all, and a nation in which the rule of law is supreme not the rule of deadlines (see Bush v Gore).

Tell our Senator Salazar to do the right thing for all of the people who live in America. His vote and those of the "Gang of 14" were a sell out to the ideals that makes this nation a progressive nation not a backward, knuckle dragging nation.
Many of us can prevent this disease because being fat is one of the leading causes of diabetes. 10 percent of Americans will have diabetes by the year 2050 (about 50,000,000 people).

This is a preventable disease for many. What can you do? Read on!

From the American Diabetes Association's recent conference:

"In one presentation, Xuanping Zhang, a health scientist with the CDC's Division of Diabetes Translation, and colleagues found that an estimated 2.8 percent of people in the United States have diabetes but don't know it.

"There is a relationship between the detection and access to health care," Zhang said. "Not having insurance makes it more difficult for patients to access preventive care.

"The limitation of access to health care really effects the diagnosis of diabetes," Zhang said."

Using data from the 1999-2004 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, Zhang's group found that lack of access to health care due to lack of health insurance, and not seeking health care, were the primary reasons why these diabetes cases were missed."

The offices of the President and Vice President of American government is not above oversight.

The view that the Blood King and Queen hold are antithetical to what the Constitution means in the relationship between the three co-equal branches of our representative democratic form of government.

From the LA Times:

"An executive order that Bush issued in March 2003 — amending an existing order — requires all government agencies that are part of the executive branch to submit to oversight. Although it doesn't specifically say so, Bush's order was not meant to apply to the vice president's office or the president's office, a White House spokesman said."

Is it time for all Americans to join in revolution against a imperial presidency that endangers the Constitution?

If impeachment is "off the table" by the Democratic leadership then it is time for a frontier justice to prevail.

Imagine a million people descending on the White House to take the Blood King and Queen to meet a justice that they so richly deserve.

But that won't happen because we believe in "the rule of law" and "justice will out" even in the face of madness of the theocrats and Republicans.
This is a hit piece on John Edwards by the New York Times. The mass media will be just as biased in the upcoming presidential campaign as it was in 2000 and 2004.

Isn't it time for reporters to actually do their job rather then be a mouth piece for the RNC?

I know that Joe Trippi (author of "The Revolution will Not be Televised, which is excellent on the Dean campaign) has his work cut out because of this blatant media bias against politicians who want to work for all Americans and not be a politician for "the rich".

Send the New York Times your thoughts on this unfair and unprofessional reportage that should have never made it past the editor let alone be on the front page.
...that the Colorado Republican Congressional delegation is in the nuttiest camp of the lunatic fringe of the right wing, look no farther than this vote today.

Only 84 Republicans in the House voted for an amendment which would have forbidden Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi from traveling to other countries. 337 members voted No, including all the Democrats and a vast majority of Republicans.

But among the Yes votes were all three of Colorado's Republican contingent--Lamborn, Tancredo, and even the "new" and supposedly "bipartisan" Marilyn Musgrave.
Will the local PBS channels (12 and 6) air this so called documentary on the First Amendment called "The Wall of Separation"?

Reporter Steve Benen, Talkingpointsmemo.com, writes:

"...this PBS special will explain that the Founding Fathers had "a radically different definition" of religious liberty than what we have today, and that "the modern understanding of the role of religion in the public square is exactly the opposite of what the Founders intended."

Barry Lynn, Americans for Separation of Church and State, writes on the backgrounds of the film's production company and its president and writer:

1). The Boulevard film company's website about the show has a trailer for the film. The trailer shows several talking heads about separation of church and state. But the longest and last person talking is on the religious right's notion that "separation of church and state" is just a metaphor.

See trailer here Link .

2). Boulevard's "President is Jack Hafer, an evangelical Christian who told one interviewer that Christians have an obligation to “shape the culture” and “spread the faith.” He urged Christian young people to go into the arts as “kingdom-spreaders” and as “a form of missionary service.” writes Barry Lynn.

3). "Brian Godawa, the writer and director of “The Wall of Separation,” who is an even more interesting character." Barry Lynn continues: "His Chalcedon review of the critically acclaimed movie, “Brokeback Mountain,” calls it “a brilliant piece of subversive homosexual propaganda.” By depicting gay men as “manly” instead of “fey queens,” he said, “It’s the normalization of the freakish minority.” He charged that “homosexualism” is “an ideology and religion whose goal is to overthrow the Christian paradigm of morality.”

Godawa added, “Society SHOULD suppress immoral behavior and it does so on many fronts. So if homosexualism is immoral, then yes, it should be suppressed, just like child molesting, its ugly step-brother hidden in the closet, just like adultery, just like promiscuity."

Call Channel 12 and Channel 6 to ask them if they are airing this documentary. If they are then ask them if Progressnowaction.org can review the film for its membership to decide if the documentary is truly unbiased as the trailer suggests or is biased in favor of estabishment of one religion over another by our government.

CIA veterans write to Mel Martinez, head of the RNC, about the lies that are being propagated by Republican presidential candidates on the fact that convicted traitor "Scooter" Libby should not do jail time.

The letter, in part:

"As former intelligence officers—most of us have served the United States in undercover positions—we are saddened and appalled by the recent public comments of former Senator Fred Thompson, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and former Governor Mitt Romney—one a potential candidate and the other two declared candidates for the Republican nomination for President--with respect to the perjury and obstruction of justice conviction of Vice President Cheney’s Chief of Staff, Lewis “Scooter” Libby. These men misrepresent the case against Mr. Libby and call into question the integrity of a respected Federal Judge and U.S. attorney. Their positions with respect to the just and fair punishment meted out to Mr. Libby raise serious questions about their commitment to the rule of law free of partisan bias."

I sent that letter to Ms. Carman of the Denver Post. I would recommend that progressnowaction members forward the letter and commentary to their own local papers.
Immigration reform may be dead in Congress for now, but the problem still exists amid growing hysteria and hideous examples of discrimination against Latinos regardless of citizenship or national origin.

Dreams Across America is changing that. Starting with a national train tour beginning today in Los Angeles and ending later this month in Washington DC, Dreams Across America is an ongoing campaign to return the focus of the debate to those involved--the individuals and families who have come to America in search of a better life, the small business and American citizens who benefit from their hard work, and the ongoing costs involved in keeping these people in the shadows.

In Just eight days four more Democrats have decided to back Impeachment of Vice President Cheney.

The support is steadily building for repudiating all that Cheney and his Neocons have done to the reputation and security of America.

To my knowledge thus far no Colorado Congressman or woman has offered any support for US Rep. Kucinich's Impeach Cheney Bill H Res 333.

Congressman Diana DeGette recently emphatically stated that she will not become a Co-Sponsor on Kucinich's bill.

This just in from David Swanson's blog on AfterDowningStreet.org Link

Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Chair of the Out of Iraq Caucus, has joined Congresswomen Barbara Lee and Lynn Woolsey, the two Co-Chairs of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, as well as Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, Chief Deputy Whip and a member of the Steering and Policy Committee, and Congress Members Yvette Clarke, William Lacy Clay, Albert Wynn, and Dennis Kucinich in cosponsoring Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney (H. Res. 333).
For details, see http://impeachcheney.org/

On Wednesday, June 13, Waters and Kucinich plan to hold a press conference in Washington, D.C., to discuss "Renewed Efforts in the House of Representatives to Impeach Vice President Cheney." The event is planned for 9:30 a.m. at the Cannon Terrace (on the outside of the Cannon House Office Building).

The reference to "renewed" efforts may be related to this discussion of impeaching Cheney in which Congresswoman Waters engaged in April 2006: Link

Congreswoman Waters is also a US House Judiciary Committee Member.

Congresswoman Waters has spoken out strongly on this issue since June 16, 2005:

Earlier Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Co-Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, joined Lynn Woolsey, the other Co-Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and Congress Members Yvette Clarke, Jan Schakowsky, William Lacy Clay, Albert Wynn, and Dennis Kucinich in cosponsoring Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney (H. Meanwhile, 11 state legislatures have introduced such resolutions

Many True Conservatives hate what Cheney has done to the GOP and would support impeaching him if the Democrats would lead the way.

Unfortunately Speaker of the US House Nancy Pelosi is the major obstructionist to impeaching Cheney. Pelosi took impeachment off the table one year ago and before the 2006 election. Everyone should be aware of that by now. I'm still not convinced that the Democratic Leadership is aggressively pushing investigations in the WMD lies that got us into Iraq. Go here http://impeachgonzales.org/ to sign the petition to impeach AG Gonzales.

What the administration of the Blood King Bush have forgotten is that ultimately Gonzales serves the people of America.

Corrupted the Department of Justice in the name of rigging national elections is the surest way to anarchy.

Since the Blood King Bush does not believe in effective government and believes that all government is bad. It should come as no surprise that an ineffective government at his command is a dream come true.

The real world consequences of this insane political ideology is seen in the unnecessary death and injury of Americans via natural disasters like hurricanes Katrina and Rita, food recalls for E. Coli, and not protecting the well being of American workers in factories and offices due to, for example, repetitive motion injuries.

AG Gonzales may serve at the pleasure of the Blood King Bush but he should represent the Constitution and rule of law. This man, Gonzales, has shown that he is no more deserving of his position as does the Blood King who violates his oath to the office of the presidency on a daily basis.

Impeachment, from Dailykos blogger Kargo X:

"And not just the evidence of which we are currently aware, but very likely much, much more:

For no President can withhold evidence in an impeachment inquiry. Whatever standing the claim of executive privilege may have in other circumstances, it has none here. James K. Polk was the only President between Jackson and Lincoln to enhance the power of the Presidency; but Polk conceded with utmost clarity in a message to the House of Representatives in 1846 that, if the House were looking into executive misconduct with a view to the exercise of its power of impeachment, "the power of the House in the pursuit of this object would penetrate into the most secret recesses of the Executive Departments. It could command the attendance of any and every agent of the Government, and compel them to produce all papers, public or private, official or unofficial, and to testify on oath to all facts within their knowledge."

What is happening with Special Forces in the Phillipines? The advertising tested "Long War" frame by the Blood King Bush is way below the radar of the mass media but I noticed this item on the corrupted private/public partnership contracts continues with this:

"Contingency Response Services LLC in Irving, TX received $14.4 million for Task Order 0001 under a previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee, indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity Global Contingency Services contract N62742-06-D-1113. The task order is issued for work in the Republic of the Philippines for the Joint Special Operations Task Force – Philippines, including all labor, supervision, management, tools, materials, equipment, facilities, transportation, incidental engineering, and other items necessary. Work will be performed in the Republic of Philippines, and has an expected completion date of January 2008. "

This contract is part of an overall larger contract worth $450,000,000 USD to ""Contingency Response Services LLC" is a partnership of DynCorp International; Parsons Global Services Inc in Pasadena, CA; and PWC Logistics in Safat, Kuwait."

While this may be innoculous but there is a clause in the contract for "emergency services that can include security, fire and rescue".

Both Dyncorp (read here Link ) and Parsons Corporation (read here Link ) have contracts in Iraq which have generated controversy.
Bush the social drinker. 'Cause he can handle his alcohol in a party setting.

Busted by reporter John Avarosis, AmericaBlog.com:

"He clearly drank from either a beer or a near beer in Germany. Which one was it? And in any case, near beer contains alcohol (0.5% or less), something is verbotten to alcoholics."

For many years the rumor(s) that Bush is secretly drinking have circulated inside the "Beltway".

This is confirmation that Bush is still a drinking thug.
