Will Obama snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

I had a conversation with a representative of the Obama campaign a few minutes ago which left me horrified.

I asked why the Obama campaign wasn't fighting back in the face of all these despicible lies McCain was telling. I told her I thought that Obama was throwing this thing away. I was told that "we don't believe in fighting." I was told that "that's not the kind of change we believe in."

I hung up the phone feeling like I had just spoken with a couple of people who were disconnected from reality, and who had no idea what they were up against. I felt as if these people are in a bubble, surrounded by positive vibes, and that they have no clue about the fact that they're in a street fight. I'm very afraid that if this attitude pervades the campaing, that Obama doesn't have a chance.

Just wanted to share that with you.

Push Polls About Health Insurance Reform

The health insurance industry is hard at work to protect their profits in Colorado.

I've been getting "Push Poll" calls from a place called "Datapolres" on my caller ID, showing this number, 7033788323, which when dialed, is met with a message saying, "this number has been disconnected."

Upon answering the call, a series of leading questions are asked, starting with, "Are you in favor of, or against the government having complete access to your health care records?"

They aren't, of course, looking for or recording a response. They are planting a seed, so to speak. The clear implication is that my privacy is being threatened in some way.

Gosh- what could be then source of this threat? Let me guess. Health care reform?

Further proof that these people are out of control, and need to be neutered like a pit bull.

After that, I utter an expletive, and hang up. I haven't heard the rest of the questions. I'll be more patient next time.

Anybody else been getting these calls?

Federal Officals Order Dallas Police to Stop Screening For Weapons at Obama Rally

Ft. Worth Star-Telegram reports that Dallas police were ordered by Secret Service to stop screening entering audience members for weapons at Obama rally in Dallas.

Republicans wouldn't enable assasination of the most exciting Democrat in a generation, would they?

Who gives the Secret Service their orders?

Is this more proof that we should let the telecoms off the hook (tongue in cheek)?
