Who is Mike Coffman hiding from?

After numerous recent scandals and avoiding his constituents for months, Rep. Mike Coffman making an appearance... at a private fundraiser sponsored by two Big Oil PACs. Coffman has carried numerous pieces of legislation in support of Big Oil, so a fundraiser with wealthy, fat cat, industry donors makes sense.

If ordinary Coloradans want to join Coffman at the fundraiser, the minimum price is $1,000. Most of Coffman's constituents can't afford to spend that kind of money to meet their congressman. But since Coffman has never introduced himself to them, and consistently refuses requests to hold a town hall meeting or even meet for coffee, it appears that this is the only way.

A few weeks ago, video surfaced of Coffman questioning the citizenship of President Barack Obama during a fundraiser this past spring, repeatedly claiming the president "is not an American." Since then, Coffman has virtually disappeared, holding no public events--the only exception apparently being fundraisers where well-heeled supporters pay for the privilege of meeting with him.
